✈️ UK to Colombo (1 night): Your holiday begins in the capital city of Colombo, where you’ll be greeted at the airport by your private driver, who will transport you between destinations and provide you with the freedom to visit as many sites and attractions as you would like throughout your stay in Sri Lanka. Colombo’s dynamic atmosphere blends its colonial history with vibrant multicultural influences, offering must-see attractions including the bustling Pettah Market, the picturesque Galle Face Green promenade, the serene Gangaramaya Temple, and the fascinating National Museum of Colombo, plus the delicious street food along the bustling Galle Road.

🚗 Colombo to Dambulla / Sigiriya (3 nights): For your next stop, your driver will escort you to Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle, where you’ll explore the breath-taking UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Dambulla and Sigiriya. Dambulla is home to the Dambulla Cave Temple complex, which consists of five caves adorned with intricate murals and over 150 carved Buddha statues. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, with its famous ‘Lion’s Paw’ entrance, and impressive architecture, incredible murals and a network of gardens and moats. The climb to the summit is well worth the effort for the incredible views of the surrounding landscapes, ancient ruins, and lush forests.

🚗 Dambulla / Sigiriya to Kandy (2 nights): Next, you’ll take the journey to Kandy, also in central Sri Lanka and part of the Cultural Triangle. Kandy is a city brimming with culture, and at its heart lies the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of Buddhism’s most revered shrines as it is believed to house one of Buddha’s teeth. Next to the temple is Kandy Lake, perfect for a scenic walk or you could also head to the Royal Palace of Kandy to explore the enchanting ruins.

🚗 / 🚂 Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (1 night): Travelling to your next destination presents you with two choices: either a direct door-to-door journey with your driver or a spectacular train journey from Kandy to Ella taking you through some truly stunning scenery through rolling hills and past cascading waterfalls, where your driver will meet you at Ella train station for the final stretch to Nuwara Eliya. On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as ‘Little England’, you’ll find neatly manicured tea estates stretching as far as the eye can see. Nuwura Eliya is one of Sri Lanka’s prime tea-growing regions and its unique climate and altitude contribute to its high-quality tea. Here you can visit tea factories, learn about the tea-making process and sample a variety of teas.

🚗 Nuwara Eliya to Beach Resort (7 nights): What better way to end your Sri Lankan escape than to head to one of the country’s wonderful beach resorts? You’ll be spoilt for choice with options including Mirissa, with its picturesque crescent-shaped shoreline and lively beachfront, Tangalle, offering tranquil, secluded beaches, Unawatuna, near the historic city of Galle, or Bentota with its golden sands, water sports, and scenic river cruises. Our travel experts will happily advise you where to stay, depending on your preferences.

✈️ Beach to UK: After two weeks exploring ancient cities, sipping tea and relaxing in a coastal paradise, it’s time to head back to the UK.
