Itinerary

3 Nights – Valencia
5 Nights – Beach
2 Nights – Alicante

✈️ UK to Valencia (3 Nights):  With an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, you’d be unlucky to arrive in Valencia on a cloudy day.  Come rain or shine though, this city has a lot to offer when it comes to history and culture.  From the ultra-modern City of Arts and Sciences – a complex of museums and aquariums designed by Santiago Calatrava. To the

charming streets of the Old Town, where you’ll find the impressive Valencia Cathedral and busy, bustling markets.  At the end of your stay in Valencia, you’ll collect your rental car for the next part of your journey.

🚗  Valencia to Beach Resort (5 Nights):  Heading out of Valencia, you’ll take the picturesque drive along the coast to a nearby beach resort such as Denia, Calp and Altea.  There are so many resorts to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice.  The resort of Denia is home to some lovely beaches such as Les Marines and Les Rotes and also features an historic castle which overlooks the bustling marina. The old town has lots of Spanish charm with whitewashed houses and a lively Mediterranean vibe.  Calp offers a relaxed atmosphere and golden sands. Head to Playa del Arenal-Bol or Playa de la Fossa which are family-friendly and a great place to relax and soak up the sunshine.  Altea has an artistic and bohemian vibe, with flower markets and art galleries giving an insight into authentic Spanish coastal life.  The beaches are pebbled, not sandy, but provide a less crowded, more intimate setting with secluded coves such as Playa de la Roda and Playa del Mascarat.   One of Altea’s main landmarks is the iconic Church of La Mare de Déu del Consol with its distinctive blue dome.

🚗  Beach resort to Alicante (2 Nights). To conclude your trip, you’ll drive to the coastal city of Alicante.  Explore the Santa Bárbara Castle which is perched high on Mount Benacantil, offering great views of the city and coastline. Or stroll along the beautiful Explanada de España promenade lined with palm trees and mosaic patterns. The historic Barrio Santa Cruz is a great place to wander with its colourful houses and charming squares. Foodies will also love the fresh seafood and local wines.

Alicante to UK: After dropping off your hire car, you’ll fly home to the UK, relaxed and refreshed from enjoying some of Spain’s vibrant cities and its stunning coast.
