Itinerary

3 Nights – Cape Town
1 Night – Johannesburg
3 Nights – Kruger
7 Nights – Zanzibar

✈ UK – Cape Town (3 Nights): You’ll fly from the UK to Cape Town, where you’ll have 3 nights to explore. Vibrant, artsy and with a coastal setting, Cape Town is the cosmopolitan city that’s brimming with artisan coffee spots, galleries, colourful neighbourhoods and a beautiful Bowl setting in the shadow of Table Mountain.

Whether you want a Lion’s Head sunset, cable car views, palm-studded beaches or a chance to mingle with Cape Peninsula’s penguins, you’ll be in a city with endless options. Snap pastel facades in the bohemian Bo-Kaap, eat your way through Neighbourgood or Oranjezicht City Farm Market, or take in some greenery at Kirstenbosch Garden. The V&A waterfront has tons of restaurants, boutiques and great nightlife, plus it’s the departure point for ferries to Robben Island.

✈ Cape Town – Johannesburg (1 Night): You’ll next fly from Cape Town to Johannesburg, where you’ll have one night to relax before the wild game reserves of Kruger. With a different feel from Cape Town, Johannesburg is South Africa’s “Big Apple”. Fully revamped, this city is now a major commercial hub complete with a modern feel, hipster neighbourhoods, roof bars and a funky backdrop of urban murals and coffee shops. You can visit the Apartheid Museum and Soweto, the World Heritage Site Cradle of Mankind, or just meander the street art and dining scenes. There’s even a casino complex here, plus shows and thrill rides at Gold Reef City.

✈Johannesburg- Kruger (3 Nights): Depending on which Kruger lodge you choose, you’ll reach this game reserve by plane or transfer. With over 7,000 square miles, this vast expanse of natural habitat is one of the oldest and largest in the world. It’s home to the Big Five (elephants, black and white rhinoceros, leopards and lions), a staggering 519 bird species, plus a fantastic selection of camps and lodges- from luxury to budget-friendly.

This is your chance to get up close and personal to lions and their cubs, elephants and their babies, plus grazing wildebeest and zebra. We can organise special tours or excursions- it’s up to you!

✈Kruger – Zanzibar (7 Nights): We’ll next return you to Jo-berg for a flight to Zanzibar, which is like nowhere else on earth. Off the coast of Tanzania, this African island stands out for its beach beauty, turquoise waters and unique Arabian history. Islamic architecture here forms beautiful streets, like the Stone Town capital, northern Nungwi and lively south-eastern Paje village.

It’s the powder-fine white sands and palm-fringed beaches that give Zanzibar its idyllic feel, though. With clear-blue waters, thatched stilts and a fantastic range of romantic, boutique or beachfront hotels, Zanzibar comes with one word- relaxation. At the same time, you’ve got spice and vanilla plantations, Stone Town’s Moorish and Indian inner city, plus markets, shopping and dining along the town’s waterfront. Spot giant turtles on Changuu island, walk canopied bridges at Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, snorkel on Mnemba Island or just bask on sun-drenched sands (parasol optional).

✈Zanzibar – UK: You’ll return to the UK from Zanzibar, where we’ll be with you from hotel checkout to flight to make sure it goes smoothly.
