✈️ UK to Vientiane (2 nights): Your adventure begins with a flight from the UK to Vientiane, Laos’ relaxed capital city with an interesting mix of historic landmarks and natural beauty. Explore the impressive Pha That Luang, a golden stupa that stands as the symbol of Lao Buddhism.  Wander through the streets to visit the Patuxai Victory Monument, which offers panoramic views of the city and for a unique experience, head to the Buddha Park, just outside the city, which is home to over 200 statues depicting Buddhist and Hindu mythology. For a true understanding of Laos’ tragic history as the most heavily bombed country in history, head to The COPE Visitor Centre where you’ll learn about the ongoing challenges caused by unexploded ordnance.  In the evening, take a stroll along the Mekong River, where you can enjoy meal while watching the sunset across the river.

🚂 Vientiane to Vang Vieng (1 night). Next, you’ll hop on a train to take you on a scenic journey from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, a small town nestled in breathtaking landscape of limestone peaks and lush greenery.  Once a hot spot for backpackers, it is now a playground for eco-tourism adventures.  Here you can kayak or tube along the Nam Song River or hike to Tham Phu Kham Cave where you can explore the stunning limestone formations and cool off with a swim in a nearby lagoon. Alternatively, relax by the river or in one of the cafes, and enjoy the laid-back vibe of this pretty town.

🚂 Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang: You’ll continue your journey by train to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage town and a place where time seems to have slowed down.  Situated at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers, the town is home to beautiful temples, french colonial buildings, and lush landscapes. Start your visit with the stunning Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most revered temples in Laos. The next morning, get up early and enjoy the peaceful ritual of almsgiving, where you can witness hundreds of monks in their saffron-orange attire walk through the streets, collecting food offerings from locals and visitors. To experience the area’s natural beauty,  head to the stunning Kuang Si Falls, and take a boat trip to explore the Pak Ou Caves that are filled with thousands of Buddha statues left by pilgrims over the past few centuries.  The night market is a great place to pick up some street food and local crafts and souvenirs.

✈️ Luang Prabang to Far East Beach:  It’s time for some serious R&R to complete your holiday.  Due to limited flight options from Luang Prabang, one of the best options is to fly to Bangkok, from where you can catch a short flight or transfer to your chosen beach destination. Hua Hin or Pattaya are the easiest options to explore Thailand’s coastal delights, but the choice is yours.  Hua Hin offers a peaceful retreat with quiet beaches, excellent seafood, and relaxed atmosphere. Make sure you visit the Hua Hin Night Market, famous for its local handmade goods and delicious street food. Alternatively, Pattaya offers a livelier stay with bustling nightlife, water sports, and plenty of shopping. Explore nearby Coral Island for a day of snorkelling and beach activities or take in the vibrant nightlife at Walking Street.

✈️  Beach to UK Your incredible journey will conclude and we’ll fly you back home to the UK.
