3 Nights – Santiago / Valparaíso
2 Nights – Iguazu Falls
4 Nights – Rio de Janeiro
UK – Lima (3 Nights): You’ll start your journey flying to Peru’s coastal capital city of Lima, where we’ll transfer you to your hotel. Lima is a melting pot of modern-day urbanisms, colonial-era mansions, vibrant markets and nightlife. Historic squares and cathedrals fill El Centro’s streets, where ceviche restaurants contribute to Lima’s status as “gastronomic capital of the Americas”. There’s romance and greenery at the Parque del Amor, ancient temple ruins at Huaca Huallamarca, bohemian flair in Mirador and plenty of cobbled charm in the Barranco beach district. Visit the Museo Larco, meander grand lawns at the Plaza Mayor and take in the city’s iconic canary yellow facades. Fresh markets, historic monasteries and an exciting Chinatown make Lima fascinating. You’ve got 3 whole nights to taste it.
Lima – Cuzco/Machu Picchu (5 nights): Your next flight will take you to Cuzco, a captivating city that serves as both a destination in its own right and the gateway to Machu Picchu. You’ll use Cuzco as your base to acclimatise to the high altitude before embarking on your journey to explore the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. As the former Inca capital, Cuzco exudes a unique grandeur and vibrant culture. During your acclimatisation, you’ll have the chance to explore Cuzco’s historic sites such as the impressive Sacsayhuamán fortress and the sacred Qorikancha temple. You will enjoy a day trip to the Sacred Valley to explore ancient Inca ruins, visit traditional Andean villages, and enjoy the stunning landscapes of the terraced fields and mountains. After a couple of days, you’ll be ready to embark on your journey to Machu Picchu. We include a tour by scenic train ride through the breath-taking Andean landscape however, for the truly adventurous, we can arrange a trek along the famous Inca Trail. Machu Picchu is a place like no other. With its awe-inspiring ruins perched high in the mountains, it offers a fascinating insight into the incredible engineering of the Inca civilisation. Whether arriving by train or on foot, exploring Machu Picchu will be an unforgettable highlight of your holiday.
Cuzco – Santiago (3 Nights): Next you will fly to Chile’s capital, Santiago, framed by the famous San Cristóbal and Santa Lucía hills. Santiago is known for its 22 funiculars and rewarding, high-perched views. Stroll the bohemian Barrio Bellavista neighbourhood and visit the Catedral Metropolitana shadowing the main Plaza de Armas square. Shopaholics and spice lovers are catered-to at endless malls and markets. From Santiago you can also visit the UNESCO world heritage city of Valparaíso which is known for its bohemian culture, brightly painted houses and beautiful coastal setting, as well as explore Chile’s famous wine regions.
Santiago – Iguazú (2 Nights): Iguazú Falls is the destination for 275 crashing waterfalls that are taller (and wider) than Niagara Falls and you’ll reach it on a short flight from Buenos Aires. Awe-inspiring, humbling and shrouded in fresh mist, the Iguazú Falls cascade amid natural beauty that is nothing short of staggering. Walk, hike or jungle trek The Devil’s Throat against dense forestry and make the most of either Argentinian or Brazilian sides of this border-dividing wonder. 2 nights is ideal to take in Iguazú, but if you want longer we’ll happily arrange this too.
Iguazú Falls – Rio (4 Nights): Wrapping up this itinerary in spectacular style, you’ll now fly direct to the Brazilian capital of Rio de Janeiro. Blending urban jungles, white-sand beaches and sensational shopping and dining, Rio wasn’t nicknamed “The Marvellous City” for nothing. Bounce rays and samba beats on the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, explore colourful favelas and take in breath-taking panoramas from the Sugarloaf and Corcovado mountains. Under the iconic Christ The Redeemer statue, Rio encapsulates a feast of cloistered charm, cutting-edge nightlife, iconic landmarks and some of the most beautiful beaches on earth.
Rio – UK: We’ll be at your hotel on your departure day to meet and escort you to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
