Kwazulu Natal, also known as the Garden Province is situated on the east coast of South Africa. The province is home to three major cultural groups; Zulu, European and Indian. This diverse range of cultures makes for an interesting experience. That combined with adventure sports and lazy days at the beach, bustling towns, dramatic mountainscapes and lush green valleys and you’ll start to imagine what’s on offer.

Description

Durban is the beating heart of Zwzula Natal. The Golden Mile situated in Durban is a beautiful stretch of beach that is popular with tourists. It’s also home to a world class aquarium and dolphinarium, as well as boasting many great bars and restaurants. Moyos cocktail bar is worth a try, situated on the pier it’s the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. Victoria market is also worth a visit, sample the traditional local cuisine on offer and purchase some locally made handmade crafts.

A trip to South Africa is not complete without a safari. See the big 5 at one of the game reserves such as Hluhluwe-umfolozi and iThala. Game reserves in this area are quieter and less crowded so make for a better safari experience.

If you are looking for the extreme adrenaline rush, Kwazulu Natal can offer you that with ease. From white water rafting and zip-lining, to rock-climbing and canyoning there’s not much that’s not on offer. For something unique head to the Wild Swing and throw yourself over the waterfall at Oribi Gorge and feel the wind rushing past you as you fly to the other side, or for something not quite as intense take a ride on the Wild Slide and glide across the top of the gorge. Also try the ‘Big Rush Big Swing’ at Moses Mabhida Stadium which swings you from one end of a football pitch to the other.

Multi Centre Holidays

Durban and Kwazulu Natal is best explored as part of one of our South African Multi Centre Holidays – where we can combine it, with all the other bits of South Africa that you want to see. We tailor make every holiday, so we can offer you any hotel, any itinerary.

Get in touch today so we can create an itinerary just for you, or for some inspiration take a look at our most popular South Africa itineraries below.

Our most popular itineraries don’t feature Kwazulu Natal, but we can easily add a stop of two, so you can explore this region. Our Best of South Africa starts in Johannesburg and Kruger, you could then fit in Durban, before continuing on to Port Elizabeth, Knysna, Hermanus, the Winelands and Cape Town. Our Highlights of South Africa is a more condensed option, combining Johannesburg, Kruger, Hermanus, the Winelands and Cape Town. A stop in Durban would work well after your stay in Kruger, before you fly on to Port Elizabeth. Alternatively, our Taste of South Africa is a simple itinerary flying into Cape Town where you’ll also get to visit the nearby Hermanus and Winelands, before flying on to Durban where you’ll have the opportunity to do a safari.

Remember, this is just a taste of what we can offer, so please get in touch today and speak to one of our South Africa specialists.
