Description

The city is well known for its beautiful Chinese gardens, the Lingering Garden being the most popular. The gardens are separated into 4 sections, East, Central, West and North Garden, each with a different theme and they really are a tranquil wonder. The Humble Administrator’s Garden, the Lion Grove Garden and the Master of Nets Garden are also popular.

Other popular attractions include Tongli Ancient Town and Luzhi Town, both well preserved water towns, the first dating back over 1000 years and the latter over 2500 years. There’s also Tiger Hill which is worth visiting as its home to many historical sites, some of which are over 2500 years old.

Also worth a visit is Pub Street. The aptly named street is home to public houses and bars that offer great drinks and a warm atmosphere. The pubs on the street play host to local musicians so you can always enjoy some live music and a glass of wine.
