Location: This large island has 266 fantastic villas the meeru has grown in popularity over the past few years and has many repeat guests. The island has an excellent range of facilities, and guests are able to upgrade to all inclusive.
Description: This island is set on seventy acres of beach and gardens; it is 50 minutes from male airport and has a great range of facilities such as 2 buffet bars, 2 a la care restaurants and many bars. By day guests indulge in one of the two island spas (one being over water with a glass bottom) enjoy activities such as snorkeling tennis or swimming. There are also watersports such as windsurfing and catamaran rides. The evenings are relaxed with light entertainment in the bars and lounge area.
Accommodation: The land villas are specious detached bungalows with cable television, min-fridge, and tea/coffee making facilities, in-room safe, hairdryer and a part open-air bathroom. The Jacuzzi beach villas have an outdoor Jacuzzi with a four poster bed. The water villas are located at the waters edge with direct access to the sea. Guests can also upgrade to a Jacuzzi water villa which is located over the water and has a spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi and access to the lagoon. The honeymoon suites are the ultimate in privacy, they are detached from the land over the lagoon the only way to access the land is by boat.
Our Opinion: The Meeru is a great island with excellent accommodation from the land villas to the honeymoon water villas each room is bursting with modern amenities. The meeru is a great base for those wanting to take excursions and enjoy the Indian ocean at its finest.
